MY FAVORITE E-MAIL EVER
Spoiler alert: This is a good one :). I’m sharing an email exchange between me and a dear, new friend of mine. I deleted some keywords to keep her personal info private. The rest will speak for itself.
The initial email from my friend was in response to the email you all got a few days back with the subject line, “A little dash of fuck it”.
Friend: Just arrived in (insert town where big interview is happening for a new job). I’ve got my second-round interview with (insert company she really wants to work with/for) tomorrow. Wish me luck — I think!
Me: Just be you. Open yourself up. Be authentic. Don’t worry about what they think of you. If it’s the right position for you, let the flow take you. If not, you’ll be guided to something else. Take a moment before the interview to close your eyes and fill the office with light. It will diffuse any nerves. If you want, call me before you go in.
Friend: It helped so much to read this before my six-hour, nine-person interview today! The (insert big, important person’s title) said I “left a very favorable impression” with him and the group, and he wants to talk on the phone tomorrow, so we will see!!
Me: Fuck yes. I am grinning ear to ear. Your impression is based on how that man (and his team) felt in your presence. Sure, you said great stuff, and had great ideas, but an impression is made by how people feel as a result of you bringing your energy, creativity, love, compassion, wisdom, vision, and so on.
So today, stay in the present moment and keep leaning into the trust that you are enough. You are more than enough. You have the wisdom and power that makes worlds coursing through your veins.
All you gotta do is turn down the static (caused by the loop of self hating thoughts) and let the signal pour through you clearly…like a radio.
Keeping turning down the static by connecting energetically with everyone you meet before you meet them. Send them love, see them well. Send good vibes to their family members. Focus on sending that kind of love, and as a
result your personal experience becomes loving and then when you walk in, guess what…THEY FEEL IT. They may not know exactly what it is or why they feel it, but that matters 0% of the time. What will dominate their decision making process is what they feel – that is, if it’s a team you are meant to work with.
So, I ask you, what will you do today and HOW will you do it. What energy will you bring? Whatever you bring, you’ll get. Bring love and compassion and people will open to you and give you theirs in return.
Shine bright. Love big. You’re never too busy to love yourself.
Loving you from here, Ryan
Our Morning Practice
1. What are 5 things you can be grateful for this morning?
2. Ask your inner guidance system these questions from A Course In Miracles: - Where would You have me go? - What would You have me do?
– What would You have me say? – And to whom?
The answers will show up as the day unfolds…if, and only if we ask the questions.
